Compared to our European cousins we just don’t do enough of it (eating outside that is)!

Ok, this is probably down to the variable nature of our climate but also has a lot to do with the abundance of tacky plastic patio furniture in your average pub garden!

In The Poachers garden, you will find comfortable high quality wooden furniture that doesn’t make you feel like it is going to give way underneath you any moment!

Our garden area is large, secluded and relatively sheltered from the prevailing winds. There are beautiful views over the Devon hills where horses can often be seen racing the course of an old branch line that was closed in the Beeching era.

We are able to host events and large gatherings in the garden and have a marquee for such occasions. As such the garden can be used for wedding receptions or larger parties that the main pub cannot accommodate.

Barbeques are also available (both traditional and gas). They can be hired by parties who wish to cook themselves or we do offer a barbeque menu and can provide catering for pre-booked parties.
